Our surgeons are skilled experts in treating conditions involving the esophagus, gastrointestinal tract, and stomach. In order to treat cancers of the stomach wall, SCA surgeons are capable of performing partial and total gastrectomies. In addition, our surgeons are experts at performing Nissen fundoplication, a procedure used to treat acid reflux. This procedure, often done using minimally invasive technique, strengthens the muscle that encloses the stomach, preventing stomach acid from refluxing into the esophagus. This often allows for quick and efficient treatment of heartburn/acid reflux that is resistant to other treatment modalities.
