Laparoscopic Surgery

All Surgical Clinical Associate general surgeons are experts in laparoscopic surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical technique that utilizes a laparoscope, a thin instrument with a specialized fiber-optic camera and light source. The laparoscope is inserted through a very small incision (between .1-1 cm) to perform the procedure. Images are projected onto a video monitor during the procedure, so the surgeon has a clear view inside the surgical site.

Various procedures are performed laparoscopically including:

• Gallbladder surgery

• Appendectomy

• Hernia repair

• Colon surgery

Benefits of laparoscopic surgery include shorter hospital stays, quicker healing times, smaller incisions with less scaring, and less pain. To schedule your laparoscopic procedure, call 601-948-1411.
