All Surgical Clinical Associate general surgeons are experts in laparoscopic surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical technique that utilizes a laparoscope, a thin instrument with a specialized fiber-optic camera and light source. The laparoscope is inserted through a very small incision (between .1-1 cm) to perform the procedure. Images are projected onto a video monitor during the procedure, so the surgeon has a clear view inside the surgical site.
